A little bit more about me

My goal?

To create beautiful imagery that is timeless, earthy and oh so dreamy. Images that are close to nature and authentic to its original colours, with a touch of grain and elevated feel.

Inspired by film, early compact cameras and the photos taken by our parents in 1998. My work has always been inspired by true life and simple moments. I so admire a photograph taken with a quick digital snap, or the quiet intention behind film. No tampering, no photoshop, not even a touch up. Imperfect, and simply printed and put in a photo album for children and grandchildren to see.

I am inspired by simple portrait artists like Samuel Elkins, who capture such authentic and raw moments. I want albums full of special photos so that I can remember life.

Jessica

I was born in ’97, when Titanic was released and the world lost the iconic Princess Diana in a car crash. I share a birthday with absolutely no one interesting, except maybe Lily-Rose Depp.

I can typically be found doing some kind of yoga or stretch, working on some social media marketing at my 8-4, going for walks on Sundays, screaming about how it feels like fall, making cheesy eggs and binge watching reality tv with my man (hello Love Is Blind).

My latest obsessions are Caroline Winkler, learning all about pregnancy even though I have zero desire to be pregnant right now, matcha with oat milk and all of Spotify’s indie pop playlists.

travels &things

I am most thankful for my travels, first with my family and now with my man by my side. Together, we’ve been to some incredible places, eaten some insane vegan donuts and done some gnarly hikes along the way.

Some of my favourite (recent) trips have been to Pemberton, Penticton, Tofino, Banff, Fernie, Portland, and Los Angeles.

Next stop for 2023 is Hawaii!
